    I know how you feel. When they closed our gyms I was able to set up my garage gym. Reminds me of working out with my dad back in the day, just no plastic covered cement weights.

    I know we're all very biased here but the gym at its root core is pretty fucking essential. when you consider we are not made to sit around on our arses all day/night we as human are built functional and designed to function and keep our bodies hearts lungs organs etc and muscles working and maintained to not just improve our physical well being but mental wellbeing also

    i am from china, the first time i go to the gym was 2010, all of the information from the internet was bro spilt and bro science, even now most training program in china is bro split,and they will only tell you feel the muscle, the weight doesnt matter, if you cant grow muscle ,you should pay me for some advanced technic

    I'm right there with you!!! It is IMPORTANT! THE GYM IS SOO IMPORTANT to me in my life and I'm right there with you the gym n working out has gotten me out of many bad times in my life and I love doing it! I wouldn't know what to do without it! It is essential to me! I wish they would.keep them open and stop being stupid during these times.of covid bc now I'm working out in my room after buying weights and a bench and a bar. I wouldn't know what to do without the gym it's my life and something I love doing!

    I agree. I would rather that restaurants and like you said, the liqour store, would close because of covid than the gym. Working out not only improves your physical and mental health, it also improves your immune system which is kinda necessary during these times. And idk if it's just my own gym, but it's not like you want to be close to other people at the gym anyway. I always make sure to keep as much distance as possible to other people because I need my own space to do movements at the gym, and this was before the pandemic even began too. As long as the gym is able to keep enough distance between everyone, and maybe even a limit of people allowed to enter, I really think they should stay open. I honestly believe that I haven't caught the cove yet simply because I do strength training and do cardio. It would wreck me so bad if my gym would be forced to close haha

    Couldn't agree more about what the gym does for you, mentally. Its part of your routine and you feel great afterwards. Its messing with people's minds closing them, then opening, and then a month or two later, closing again! Here in the UK anyway. Also, the gym was one of the most hygienic places during this pandemic. Everyone cleaned up after themselves and the cleaners were always there. Social distance measures were followed. Exercise is essential for keeping well. But, yeah...its not essential enough, of course 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I always love that you push people to find SOMETHING physical that they enjoy, whether it's the gym, biking snowboarding, walking, skating... I think to many people who don't like the gym get caught up thinking that the gym is the only way to excercise and it causes them to give up on it all together. Making it fun makes it sustainable.     I do not believe your muscles get enough recovery if you are blasting each body-part twice a week. Even if you are on the juice. The older you get the more recovery time you will need so I believe that one body part to the max per week works best for me.

    I can absolutely relate to having trouble taking days off. I'm doing two days on one day off, but the off days are cardio. But I don't want days off.... so the cardio days usually end up being full on cardio workouts. Oh well.

    I am certainly a bigger Greg Doucette fan after this. I want to take advice from someone who considers training like Christmas. I would love to see a study of people who love to train and can't get enough vs people who hate to train but still do it loathing it and see who's got a better body. I love working out.

    I can relate with being uncomfortable to make faces and noises at the gym. I was like this before but eventually I got over it and I am glad I did. In life, we can't care about what other people think of us,. Now one thing that I love about lockdown : I can scream all day and go HARDER than last time as much as I want to.     @gregdoucette did u chip your bone off? I chipped my bone at the elbow and ripped my muscle from the bone wrestling in high school...your X-Rays looked similar lol. I had an anchor installed and they removed the chipped bone.

    This man changed my life and view on excercise and nutrition since february 2020. I decided that I have had enough about not being as healthy as I can be during my youngest years...     I live in Israel and the gov here decided to close all gyms for the last 8-9 months.. doing the best i can to train at home with what i have but i don't remember a time i was more depressed.. also worked at a gym so don't even have work to pass the time not wanna even talk about the money.. worst year of my life so far. so just wanted to say thank you Greg for making my days a little bit less miserable ♥

    Coach Greg, what do you think of peripheral heart action training if the primary goal is weight loss? Or interval style weight training, not HIIT lol, just frequent sets with short breaks? I find it hard to lift heavy while dieting.
