    You can easily lose 10 percent or more by doing cardio just before weightlifting 🤣. Do your cardio after weightlifting for great results 💪👍😁.

    I think that the higher the reps exhaust you more at times than failure with lower reps. I've done 275 for 20 reps and could deadlift 275 for 15 or so the next set but when I did 185 for 75 reps I tried it again and 12 reps killed me. Also exercise makes a big difference. This really is a good idea to use for a goal. I'm going to keep that in my head from now on instead of just following exact number of sets every workout.

    This is my 2nd comment on this video because I have been doing what Greg said. Work harder than last time. I keep adding more weight to my barbell curls to where I'm doing three sets of 10-12 at 90 lbs compared to 75 lbs a month ago. The problem is I overdid it and now my right arm hurts too much to lift weights at all. So I'm not sure about the go harder than last time thing anymore.

    Dear Greg, I have a question. In one point, you say you have to push yourself to so that you’re not able to push as much as the previous set. But your next point says you are done if you lose 10% of your strength. So just to clarify, for each exercise (say if i do 4 sets) I shouldn’t lose 10% of my starting number?

    Coach Greg a lot of people on AMhistory haven’t heard of the critical drop off point by poloquin and want to use RPE I have been debating with them but when you say you lose 10% u mean go on to the next exercise and repeat , people on AMhistory think when you say go home just do one exercise like bench u lost 10% strength go home 🤦🏻‍♂️ , You mean go on to a different exercise right ?

    What me and brother do is High intensity training, we go until failure but for each rep it’s 4-2-4 4 seconds on the positive 2 seconds hold 4 seconds down on the negative. Now we go untill failure so reps can vary sometimes. Usually we go straight onto the next exercise to keep it intense. Do we have to rest a few minutes? Edit: we do full body workouts with this. So each exercise will not include the previous muscle in the previous exercise It might train the previous muscle slightly but it’s not focused on it.

    I think short rest times make you more athletic, though. Am I wrong? Any super high intensity situation, like fighting for your life, who would have a better chance? The guy doing 3 sets who waits 3-5 minutes between sets, or the guy who does 6 sets and waits 30-60 seconds? I'm talking about both strategies lifting the same weight, but the 30-60 second rest type doing less reps per set because they haven't fully recovered. The guy doing the 30-60 second rest times is overall in better shape.

    A lot of science youtubers are still not understanding the critical drop off point theory which can be googled and instead push the RPE style Can you do a collaborative video debating the both styles. It’s seems RPE is popular. AMhistory channel massive iron promotes similar stuff similar to you and uses a rep goal system which sounds like the critical drop off point but I don’t hear more you tubers talk about it more .

    Thats too much work. I like to do 335x3, 405x3, 475x3, 505x2x2. Failure causes more failure and less strength gains. This is at 207 lbs and almost 50 years old.

    I have a question. I lift weights at home and don't have the luxury of easily decreasing the weights. What if you do 4 sets with the same weight, and every set you do one less rep because you're getting tired (exp: 12 reps in set 1, 11 reps in set 2, 10 reps in set 3, 9 reps in set 4). In this case, does a 10% decrease in strength mean that you should only do sets 1 and 2 for that muscle group, because set 3 would be 10 reps, which is between 10-20% less than the 12 reps in set 1?

    Much confusion. Say 300x10; your next set is 300x9....which is 10% rep loss. Next set 300x8 (20% loss), at which point you head out? I never reduce weight on the bar during a set, which this seems to require as per all listed examples of 500->450? Getting within 1 rep repeatedly during a session of an exercise seems unlikely on its face but dropping weight to force it seems worse. Ex: 300x10 -> 300x9 -> 270x10 -> 270x7 -> go home? I just prefer banging out AMRAP, and adjusting weight vs reps based on goal of strength or hypertrophy.

    So we shouldn’t be doing the same number of reps per set e.g 10 reps of 220lb on set one but can only get 9 reps of 220lb on set two. But later on you say to just stop if you drop 10% in strength. So I’d quit after set two? Instead of getting say 8 reps on set three. This is confusing.
