    Actually you calculate joules not calories from your powermeters watt numbers. The calories burned are determined by your (body's) energy conversion efficiency (for a cycling movement typically around 25%, hence the common 1:1 conversion from Joule to Calories)

    The difference between a 14000 dollar bike and a 5000 dollar bike is extremely small and only worth the money if you're a professional cyclist and every millisecond matters. Having said that I would totally buy the 14000 dollar bike if I could afford it because I'm a gear junkie.

    hey coach greg, I was dieting for about 8 months straight eating about 1700-1500 cals throughout the journey of my weight loss, and later on into it I experienced dizziness and started to pass out it progressively got worse. and when I went to the doctors then said i had a heart problem and that was my blood pressure was really low. After I added more kcals to my overall and started to main gain it just stopped as in i stopped passing out and all of my problems went away. Can you explain?

    I still don’t understand why people want cheat meals I think it’s mainly infatuation from all these youtubers who do cheat day videos and they get infatuated by the idea of being fit and active enough to have huge cheats In my opinion, if you’re trying to lose weight and haven’t reached your goal you shouldn’t be thinking about cheats. If you want a cheat then that’s a sign you should fix your boring unbalanced diet. I cringe when I see people wanting a cheat day so early on in their freaking fitness journey It’s like they want to be just fit enough just to binge eat without getting fat It’s like their goal is just to eat Whats with this obsession in gorging on food. Like, it’s not gonna disappear you can have the rest another day

    So I was in the lobby of my building with a friend, and lots of folks keep their bikes locked up there. I made a joke that I wanted to ask someone if they'd just give me their bike, because I've been wanting one. And I look over and there's a bike with a tag on it that says "free, needs seat." AND it's a Giant brand, like our Olympic Cycler Doctor's bike! What a find. Time to burn more calories than last time

    5 months straight is nothing I've dieted for 1 year and a half... They say slow weight loss and then "oh my god it's too long", It's slow because it needs to be, I would never have lost 130 pounds if I had done it fast. Use cheat meals and diet breaks it's awesome.

    people really dont know how much road cycling can cost. its the most expensive non motorized sport. my bike cost 5300$ and that was 4 years ago. his groupset is the new gen of mine, its about 4k. but if he wanted less wind issues he really shouldnt have wheels that deep 45mm deep max. and the heart rate strap will tell you more about calories more than a powermeter alone. looking at just power/watts tell you just that how much you are physically working and that metric is used for a lot of other things, mainly how not to work too hard or lettting you know you can work harder. but for power to be used you have to have your FTP be known

    $10k to get lighter and more aero just to go faster longer ?? For most it’s Cheaper to just lose 25 lbs. stop your hrt and lifting and you would be 155lb only. This way you save $9000. But since you can afford it I realize you rather be jacked and ride as fast as possible. A 146 lb 60 year old can ride their $500 28lb giant and peddle by you like you are a grandpa. That can’t feel good Greg. Muscle for speed s decent trade off

    Another thing about the bike, it's made predominantly of carbon and there is no good way to machine manufacture carbon bikes. So the entire thing is made by hand, it takes a long time to build and thus, higher price

    Hi Greg, for the next Q&A if you can. I struggle with mind/muscle connection when training legs, especially during squats. My routine has both leg press and squats. If that day, while I'm on the leg press, I feel that the leg press is really working for me, I stick with the leg press (with a different feet position) instead of moving onto squats. I realise that to get better at squats you gotta do squats but, is what I'm doing incorrect or bad?

    I don't see the point of getting a lightweight bike unless you are racing. Having a heavier bike makes you stronger.
